New entrepreneur needed branding and website to elicit credibility

After leaving the corporate world, Jonathan needed a new website and logo to help establish his credibiity. The new website provides prospective clients information about his coaching and consulting services. We started with developing a logo. Leslie immediately put to action his name "Gronow" by separating it to look and sound like "Grow Now". Jonathan agreed this was a genius move. He followed with approving a visual of abstracted leaves growing inside of a lightbulb for the logo's graphic.

Jonathan showed me some coaching websites he admired. Then I gathered impressions of the his style and vision from a Digital Creek questionnaire. Jonathan pulled relevant images from the internet for his own Pinterest mood board. From the findings of this discovery, I came up with some ideas of website content, color scheme and style for the website. I assisted Jonathan with navigation structure and graphic design, while he provided the written content.

Jonathan expressed a desire for a somewhat corporate clean style by selecting the key words linear, modern, and professional. From images he gathered, I selected a few which seemed to fit this description. Then I extracted the colors in the photos to create his unique color scheme.

Logo design process

Strong strategically placed letters

I asked Jonathan to find logos he liked that may be appropriate. He was immediately drawn to logotypes that creatively incorporated the initials of coaches or consultants. He wanted to stress growth in a clean, corporate image.

Grow Now lightbulb moment

After experimenting with the JG letters approach, I realized that his name Gronow phonetically breaks down into "grow now". He sent me an image he liked of a lightbulb with green leaves sprouting inside. We changed it up a bit to make it unique and integrated it with his name broken in two "Gro-Now".

Solution

After a brief WordPress training session, Jonathan was all set for blogging on his own. The new logo is found on all of his social media posts and marketing pieces. As Jonathan expands his reach as a business consultant, he leads groups as a trainer in person while repurposing his written material on social media posts. The website is hosted on our cloud-based server for faster loading and better security.
